Curt's Data Recovery + Lynn & Scott's Home Network

This morning Curt from SoCal Plumbing brought over his 3.5" Maxtor dead/dying bare drive to me today and told me exactly what files he needed back.  That was really crucial because there was about a 10 minutes window for me to grab stuff off his drive before it took it's last breath.  I was able to get back about 70% of the files he needed.  Unfortunately, the other 30% was permanently gone, as the sectors occupying those files had gone bad.

Around noon I went over to Lynn and Scott's house to fix their internet/router problems.  They needed to get internet through their Netgear router to their PC and new MacBook Pro (nice!).  They also wanted to print from their MacBook & PC and get files off of their dead PC to the newer PC.  I was able to connect both computers to the internet within minutes.  However, their newer PC was extremely slow (even for a PC!) and I suspect heavily infected by viruses and/or other malware.  Because of this, printer sharing, file sharing, and even Windows Update wouldn't work properly.  Instead of taking hours to figure out the problem, we hooked the printer up to the mac directly, as it was going to be the "main" computer anyways.  I suggested they use their usb keychain to easily move their Office files from the PC to Mac.
